Foggy Pine Books Staff

Max - Owner

Picture
Max (he/they) is the owner of Foggy Pine Books. They graduated from App State with a BA in English Literature in 2011 & have worked in bookstores or libraries for almost 10 years. His favorite genres to read are fantasy & poetry. Some of their hobbies are playing games (board, card, or video), collecting things (like books & stuffed animals), and taking naps. He is a Virgo, and a lover of animals and great tv shows. They have a teenage son and two dogs, Anya & Athena. Max prefers paperbacks but collects hardcover editions of their favorite books. He uses bookmarks whenever possible & will lay an open book page-side down to save his place instead of dog earring.

Sarah - Bookseller

Sarah (she/her) has been working at Foggy Pine Books since July 2021. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and is currently working toward her Master of Arts in English with a concentration in Rhetoric & Composition at App State. She tells people she is going for something interdisciplinary. In addition to being a bookseller, Sarah also works as a writing consultant in the University Writing Center. Her favorite genres are literary fiction and science writing. Sarah has no hobbies and is rarely seen in the wild; she just spawns into work or the classroom but would rather be judging the world with her creatures on the couch. Sarah hates dust jackets, so paperbacks are usually the way to go. She has one fancy bookmark that she uses most of the time and a whole bunch of cardstock bookmarks to use for class texts.
