Set in an alternate matriarchal 1900’s Asia, in a richly imagined world of art deco-inflected steampunk, MONSTRESS tells the story of a teenage girl who is struggling to survive the trauma of war, and who shares a mysterious psychic link with a monster of tremendous power, a connection that will transform them both.
Written by Marjorie Liu, of the Dark Wolverine series, NYX: No Way Home, X-23, and Black Widow: The Name of the Rose and illustrated by Sana Takeda who has also illustrated issues of X-23, Ms. Marvel, and Soulfire, MONSTRESS has won numerous awards including the 2017 British Fantasy Award for Best Comic/Graphic Novel, the 2018 Harvey Awards Book of the Year, the 2017 Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story, and five Eisner Awards in 2018.
